How to Become a Productive Entrepreneur

Sophisticated entrepreneurs would agree that building a business is a hard thing to do. It costs not only time but effort as well. Over the years, your business productivity decreases. It might be hard to stay motivated and inspired to achieve better results.  However, being a productive businessperson, you can get the most out of your career: win new partners, increase higher wages, and improve yourself. Thus, finding out the ways to become more productive is a must.

You can increase your productivity once and for all. It only requires putting in some effort. Here are some tips that can help you.

Organize your workplace

If you have a well-organized workplace, you can improve your time management skills and, therefore, increase productivity. Inspired by OmniPapers infographic about workplace organization, we have decided to share it with you.

Use stickers

Sometimes everything you have is your plan for a day. Obviously, it is hard to keep in mind all tasks and meetings you have, so using stickers is a must. Use different colors to mark different types of tasks (meetings, calls, deals, etc.). You can stick the most urgent tasks to your computer screen to keep it next to you.

Mark your tasks

Prioritize tasks

Once Eisenhower suggested a decision matrix to divide tasks according to their urgency. The main idea is to write down all tasks you have in order to prioritize them. Sometimes we waste time on things that are not worth doing.

Hold morning meetings

People claim that productivity is higher in the morning, so conduct important meetings at 9-10 AM. Hint: try standing meetings as it keeps people focused not relaxed.

Avoid Distractions

Don’t use social networks

People love to socialize with other human beings, but using social networks can decrease productivity at work. You might notice that reading ‘news’ on Facebook is time-consuming, so you need to stop doing it right now. Set a rule that you can’t be online while working.

Use online tools

We live in the digital era, which means surfing the Internet daily. If you want to get the most out of it, start using online tools. First of all, you can download apps that track the time you spend on completing different tasks (Toggl, Atracker, Timely, etc.).

Create reminders

Being an entrepreneur, you might spend your day in a hurry. Thus, you forget to do important things. Don’t try to keep everything in your head, create reminders in Gmail or on your phone. The one thing you should remember is that you can’t switch it off until the task is done.

Take Breaks for Optimal Performance

Take breaks

It’s nearly impossible to work 8-9 hours a day and complete all your tasks on a high level. As soon as you feel tired, take a pause. You can drink a cup of green tea to boost your spirits, walk a bit, or read something interesting. Plus, standing up from time to time can help you save your health.

Boost inspiration

As we all know, one should stay inspired to complete tasks better. There are many things to draw inspiration from, and you should pick the best ones for you. By the way, you can try mind mapping not only for a better company performance but also for your own inspiration as well.

Make sure your task fit your interests

Stay healthy

If you want to be productive, you need to stay healthy. Pick a comfortable office chair, change the brightness level and the color temperature of the screen, and use mini elliptical trainers while working.

Be optimistic

Once somebody said, “Do what you love. Love what you do”. Actually, it is the best key to success. As soon as you start enjoying your work, you’ll start doing tasks faster without sacrificing the quality. Try to enjoy the process!

Being a productive entrepreneur means achieving more without sacrificing your personal life. Life is not a paradise, so let’s bend over backward to enjoy it!
