How to change the topic structure?

You can design the look of your map further by defining the topic structure. IMindQ supports eleven topic structures including:

  • Automatic Map- the default map structure is Map topic structure.
  • Map- if you click on this topic structure, the first three topics will be positioned on the right side and all other on the left side of the Central Topic.
  • Four Directions Map- if you click on this topic structure the first three topic will be positioned on the right side, the next three below the central topic, the next three on the right side and all others above the central topic.
  • Split Tree- if you click on this topic structure all topics will be positioned in a tree style. bellow the central topic.
  • Left Map- if you click on this topic structure all topics will be positioned on the left side of the central topic.
  • Right Map- if you click on this topic structure all topics will be positioned on the right side of the central topic.
  • Top Map- if you click on this topic structure all topics will be positioned above the central topic.
  • Down Map- if you click on this topic structure all topics will be positioned below the central topic.
  • Left Tree- if you click on this topic structure all topics will be positioned on the left side bellow the central topic.
  • Right Tree- if you click on this topic structure all topics will be positioned in a tree style, on the right side bellow the central topic.
  • Free Layout- if you click on this topic layout, you can freely position each topic where you want in the map space.

To apply one of these structures, select the central topic, and from the Format ribbon, select the Topic Structure button. This will open a drop down menu that contains all of the listed topic styles. When you click on a structure that best fits your needs it will be automatically applied to your map. From the Format ribbon, you can change the Text and Color of the topic, select the shape of the topics, the tie types of the map, the style of the map and the background. In addition, you can change the spacing and even add numbering to the map’s topics.
