Export your maps to different file formats

In iMindQ you can export your maps to different file formats. You can perform this action from the Exchange Ribbon, or from the File Menu from the Import/ Export tab. The following exporting options are available:

Export to Microsoft® Project

By using the Exchange ribbon, you can export the projects that you have created in iMindQ in Microsoft Project XML file format. By exporting your projects and tasks in Microsoft Project you will be able to keep working with more advanced PM functionalities if needed.

Export to Outlook

Now you can export the tasks created in iMindQ to your Outlook account. Select the task that you want to add, click on the Exchange ribbon, and from the Collaborate group select Outlook. Click on the Export to Outlook function, and your task will be added to your Outlook To-do list.

Export to Microsoft® PowerPoint

Even though iMindQ supports a powerful presentation feature, you will be able to export your maps as PowerPoint presentations as well. Just open the map that you want to present, and from the Exchange ribbon select the Microsoft® PowerPoint button. From the drop-down menu select the export function. On the right side of the working space, a Microsoft® PowerPoint slides panel will open where you will be able to customize the look of your topics inside the presentation. You can further adjust the settings just by clicking on the Settings button. Here you can choose the export mode and the elements that should be displayed in the presentation. By clicking on the export button, your map will be exported as a Microsoft® PowerPoint presentation.

Export to Microsoft® Word

The maps that you have created can be exported and transformed into a Microsoft Word document. From the Exchange ribbon, select the Microsoft Word Button. You can choose to export the entire map as a Word Document, or one topic as a Word Document. This action will open the Export to Microsoft Word Settings Dialog box, where you can customize the general settings of the document. The central topic will represent the document title, the main topics will be presented as Heading 1, and all remaining subtopics will be presented subsequently as heading 2, heading 3, etc. The content inside the map notes will be displayed as headings’ content inside the word document.

Export to OPML

By choosing the Export to OPML option in the Collaborate group, positioned in the Exchange ribbon, you can export the maps created in iMindQ as OPML files. The OPML file will contain the outline of the mind maps created in the iMindQ file. Have in mind that only the first hyperlink in a topic will be exported in the OPML file. The text in the Notes editor will be exported as plain text.

Export to HTML

Viewing your maps in the browsers has never been easier. From the Exchange ribbon, select the HTML Map button, and then the export to HTML functionality. This action will enable you to share at view the maps online at any time.

Export as Image

By selecting the “Image” icon from the Export group in the Exchange ribbon, you can export the content from the iMindQ® map into .jpg, .svg, or .png file format. The export process is very simple. When the appropriate feature is selected, the “Save” dialog starts up, from where you can browse the desired location where the file will be saved. Before saving the file you can set the image size and quality.

Export as PDF document

By selecting the “PDF” icon from the Export group in the Exchange ribbon, you can export the content from the iMindQ® map into a .pdf file format. The export process is very simple. When the appropriate feature is selected, you have to set the exporting settings. Once you are done with this dialog, the “Save” dialog starts up, from where you can browse the desired location where the file will be saved.

Export as HTML web page

When you export a map as an HTML web page, in the exported file you will get an outline of the content of the map, plus an image of the exported map. In order to export the map as HTML interactive map, do the following steps: Select the Exchange Ribbon, and then the HTM web page button.

Export as CSV file

Only the maps that have tasks as topics can be exported as CSV files. To perform this action, open or create a map project in iMindQ. From the Exchange ribbon, select the CSV button. This action will export your tasks in a Comma Separated Values Format, where every task alongside the task information will be exported.

Export as ODT

The map content and the supported topic elements can be exported to an ODT (Open Document Text) file format, which will contain rich-text content of the map and topic elements’ content that is supported with the export of the map in this format. To export the map as ODT, you will need to click on the Exchange ribbon tab, and from the Export group, choose the ODT export option. There is one more way to export the map to ODT file format, by going to the Import/Export submenu in the File Menu, and from the Export Tab choose the Export to ODT functionality.
