Optus is an Australian leader in integrated communications – serving more than 8. 9 million customers each day. The company specializes in a broad range of communications services including mobile, local, national and long distance telephony, business network services, internet and satellite services and subscription television. In 2001, SingTel became the parent company of Optus, paving the way for Optus to become a strong and strategic telecommunications player within the Asia-Pacific region. The company was founded as Optus Communications Pty, Ltd. and changed its name to Cable & Wireless Optus Pty, Ltd. in 1998. Further, it changed its name to Optus in 2001. The company is based in North Sydney, Australia.

The Problem

As one of the leading companies in integrated communication working, on big projects in several areas is the core of Optus business process and environment. Managing several projects simultaneously requires good organization, team work and collaboration and on time coordinated communication. Communication and knowledge sharing in a big company such as Optus can sometimes be slow and uncreative. Especially when working on projects and idea generation, fast collaboration and effective brainstorming are always welcome. But old fashion paper method of creative thinking and brainstorming is out of the way. With the new mind mapping software solution everything goes fast and smoothly.

The Solution

We needed a solution that will be intuitive, easy to use, but visually powerful and effective. The possibilities were endless, but iMindQ was the one we really liked and found it useful. On the other side it is low cost desktop solution which can be easily integrated with its Web and iPad solution. The Benchmark showed that iMindQ has the most effective features, interoperability and reasonable price. iMindQ also has wide range of Import/Export file possibilities which is very good for different team and format collaboration.

The Outcome

The implementation process was easy and fast. The greatest thing was that every group has found its personal use and benefit of iMindQ. The sales team uses to plan sales approach and update the generated sales. The marketing team plans their quick marketing campaigns and brainstorm on new ideas. Managers use it in status meeting, light project initiation, resource planning and tasks distribution. The Gantt chart is their favorite feature. Overall collaboration and communication are improved, brainstorming is done in no time and planning is easy to do and visualize.
